Job description

CIDETEC wishes to recruit a researcher to join the staff of its Storage Systems Unit for work involving hardware and software design and development for battery management systems (BMS).

 

Responsibilities:

The researcher will join the Storage Systems Unit to work on working on knowledge generation and industrial projects. They must be capable of multitasking, optimising resources and maximising results.

In addition to working in the Battery Management Systems area, with both hardware and software, they will also provide support for the work in the areas of Modelling, Simulation, Testing and Validation of prototypes.

They will also be involved in:

  • Generating new ideas/concepts and putting them into practice.
  • Generating new opportunities.
  • Drawing up technical documentation connected with seeking funding.

Requirements

Education:

Electronic Engineering / Embedded Systems / Computer Engineering / Telecommunications Engineering / Industrial Engineering.

 

Languages:

Fluent spoken and written English.

 

Knowledge:

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound knowledge of:

 

- Hardware:

·         HW design for electrical circuits (analog and digital).

·         Design of drivers for semiconductors.

·         Knowledge of EMC.

·         PCB routing (Altium).

 

- Software:

·         Microcontroller programming.

·         Code implementation in C and C++.

·         Communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, etc.).

·         Implementing criteria by security levels (SIL, ISO 26262).

·         Prototype/product development and validation methodologies (SIL, HIL).

·         Desktop application development (LabVIEW, Qt, Python, etc.)

·         Cloud databases and applications.

 

- Simulation:

·         Equivalent circuit-based models.

·         Electric system simulation with MATLAB, Simulink or similar.

·         Knowledge of system control (classic, machine learning, etc.).

 

Knowledge and experience in the specific field of batteries will be considered a plus.

Remuneration:  

The remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
