Job description

CIDETEC Energy Storage is looking for a person to join its Spin-off company, LANZO battery, which designs, develops and tests batteries for satellites and space launchers.

Our work covers the entire value chain, from battery chemistry to the final application. We design and develop cells, modules and battery packs tailored to our customers’ needs, with a clear focus on technology transfer to industry. The researcher will work on related activities as project leader in the development, integration and qualification of batteries for their application on space platforms. 

 

Your contribution

The successful candidate will join a start-up company in the highly dynamic space sector, linked to a cutting-edge research centre focused on sustainability and the circular economy, which has brought electrification to our roads and is already working on a 100% sustainable future.

You will work on projects for the development, integration and qualification of batteries for satellite platforms. The project manager, in collaboration with the company director and the technical team, will be responsible for the development, manufacturing, integration and delivery of the space batteries to the customer. You will have to coordinate a technical team in order to maximise results.

 

Your work will be focused on:

  • Coordination of the technical team
  • Understanding spatial specifications used to define battery and power system requirements
  • Coordinating the design, qualification and delivery of the batteries.

You will also be involved in:

  • Generating and implementing new ideas/concepts.
  • Drawing up technical documentation.
  • Preparation of documentation related to the search for funding.

Requirements

Education:

Engineering with specialisation in electrical, electronic and power engineering. Master's degree or Doctoral thesis in the field of space systems.

Languages:

Fluent in spoken and written English. 

Knowledge:

The successful candidate must demonstrate sound knowledge of the following:

  • Sound knowledge of design patterns.
  • Knowledge of space requirements.
  • Experience of managing and participating in large and modular projects.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical and thermal design.

 

Observations:

We are seeking a highly motivated person with an interest in research and innovation, to join a multi-disciplinary team. They must be able to organise their own work and meet deadlines and targets.

Having undertaken a placement abroad and more than 3 years’ work experience will be considered a plus.
