Job description

The CIDETEC Energy Storage institute is looking for a researcher to join its staff in the Storage Systems Unit to work involving battery system testing.

Our work covers the entire value chain, from battery chemistry to the final application. We design and develop cells, modules and battery packs tailored to our customers’ needs, with a clear focus on technology transfer to industry.

 

Your contribution

You will form part of a state-of-the-art research centre, geared to sustainability and the circular economy, which has helped electrify Spain’s roads and is now working towards 100% future sustainability.

Yo will join the Storage Systems Unit to work on training and/or company transfer projects. They must be capable of multitasking, optimising resources and maximising results.

Your work will focus on the following activities:

  • Instrumentation of battery modules
  • Test cycle programming
  • Test result analysis
  • Test report generation
  • Test procedure definition
  • Analysis of testing requirements for new projects
  • Adaptation of testing facilities to new standards

Requirements

Education:

Degree/Master in electrical engineering,  power electronics, energy, smart grids, automation and industrial control or similar.

Languages:

Fluent in spoken and written English. 

Knowledge:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge in:

  • Knowledge of energy storage systems
  • Knowledge of CAN, Modbus and Ethernet communication protocols
  • General programming skills
  • Analytic and repair skills, technical curiosity
  • Problem-solving mentality

Observations:

A highly motivated person, with a keen interest in research and innovation, you will join a multidisciplinary team. You will be able to organise your work, meeting both the deadlines and the established objectives. Problem-solving capacity and scientific criteria. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Having undertaken a placement abroad and more than 3 years’ work experience will be considered a plus.
