Job description

CIDETEC Energy Storage needs to recruit a researcher to work in batteries post-mortem analysis within the Energy Materials Unit.

 

Responsibilities:

The researcher will develop his/her activity either in publicly funded research projects and/or projects with companies, optimising the resources and maximising the results.

The researcher will work independently in accordance with the defined work plan. In particular, he/she will participate in the following tasks:

  • Coin cell assembly in a glove box environment
  • Hard and soft case battery cells disassembly in glove box
  • Physicochemical characterization to the materials and harvested components of the cell (TGA, FE-SEM, XRD, XPS, Raman, NMR).
  • Electrochemical characterization to the recovered electrodes (GITT, PITT, EIS, CV).
  • Project management
  • Writing technical documents and project proposals.

Requirements

Education:

Electrochemist/ Physics/ PhD in Advanced Materials.

Languages:

High level of written and spoken English.

Knowledge:

The successful candidate must demonstrate solid knowledge in:

  • R+ D in the field of batteries
  • Characterization techniques: XRD, Raman, FTIR, TGA, SEM (EDS), TEM, XPS, gas sorption (BET & BJH), CV, EIS
  • Batteries electrochemical characterization and post-mortem analysis
  • Inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, advanced materials.

Observations:

A highly motivated person with an interest in research and innovation will join a multidisciplinary and multicultural team. They will be able to organise the work, keeping to the deadlines and meeting the established objectives.
