Job description

CIDETEC is recruiting a researcher in the Nanomedicine area to work in its Drug Delivery Sysytem Line. 

We are seeking a researcher with experience in the field of Nanomedicine, able to develop new biomaterials based on polymeric materials and with the necessary knowledge for their synthesis/production and characterisation. He or she will be involved in developing pharmaceuticals product and generating new ideas in this field. 

Functions:

The researcher will join the Biomaterials Unit to work on research and innovation projects as well as company transfer projects. He/She must be capable of carrying out several lines of research simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.

The researcher will work independently, according to the work plan defined.

The person will be responsible for developing new biomaterials, carrying out both synthesis/production and characterisation of these biomaterials for use as drug delivery systems for pharmaceutical applications. He/She must ensure relational monitoring of the technical results with clients and/or collaborators and be able to summarise and present the results very clearly in reports and PowerPoint presentations.

The researcher will also be involved in:

  • Generation of new ideas/concepts and putting them into practice.
  • Collaborating on the creation of documentation for funding search purposes.
  • Clear focus on product/market/results (deadlines, cost, time).
  • Meeting the forecasts established in the annual plans.

Constant monitoring of SOA/Market.

Requirements

Education:

PhD or degree in Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry or Health/Biomedical science.

Languages:

Fluent spoken and written English.

Knowledge:

We are seeking a person able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of:

- Experience in Biomaterials and nanoparticles.

- Characterization techniques for Biomaterials (TGA, DSC, rheology), Physico-chemical characterization (NMR, FTIR, UV spectroscopy, ICP), microscopy y Chromatography techniques.

- Characterization techniques of polymers and colloids like GPC, DLS, Aqueous electrophoresis and surface tension.

- Experience in bacterial strain and antibiotics

 

Experience in the following will be considered as added value:

  • Work with cells
  • Knowledge in administratrion by inhalation of drugs

 

Observations:
