CIDETEC is seeking to recruit a highly qualified specialist researcher with experience in Tribology and Tribo-corrosion for the development of new assessment methods and understanding of the different degradation mechanisms involved.
The ideal candidate must have a top-level research background and demonstrable skills in the European and international environment.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join the Surface Engineering department and will work on training and/or company transfer projects. They must be capable of carrying out several lines of research simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.
The researcher will work independently, according to the work plan defined.
They will be involved in Spanish and European projects focusing on wear of materials (metallic and non-metallic) under different corrosive aggressiveness conditions.
They will also be involved in:
Client visits.
Education:
Doctoral degree in electrochemistry, physics, chemistry or materials science.
Languages:
Fluent spoken and written English
Knowledge:
The successful candidate must demonstrate a sound knowledge and experience of:
Surface wear processes and study of their mechanism
- Corrosion
- Tribo-corrosion
- Failure mode and effects analysis
- Experience in European projects
- Oral presentation at international congresses
Knowledge in the following areas will be considered a plus:
- Experience in characterisation using a wide battery of techniques.
- Processes for manufacturing, processing and use of materials.
- Simulation/modelling experience.
- Experience in industry.
